Delta State: Calm Returns to Warri As Council Boss Warns Mischief Markers

After the incident that characterized the COVID-19 stay at home order by the Delta State Government which led to the death of one Joseph Pessu, who was allegedly shot by a military officer in Warri for defiling the stay at home order of the State Government,calm has finally returned to the oil city with residents compiling to the order.

However, after the incident a false video emerged which has gone viral of soldiers assaulting and intimidating residents of the city. Reacting to this video, the Warri South Local Government Area council boss, Dr. Michael Tidi, through a broadcast to residents of Warri which was monitored by AFNews, he enjoined Nigerians to disregard the concocted videos trending on the social media about Warri, saying it' s the handiwork of enemies of the Oil City.

In reaction to the unfortunate incident that led to the death of Mr. Joseph Pessu, the council boss revealed that everything has been brought under control and that residents of Warri South Local Government Area are complying with the lockdown order of the state government.

He further noted that Warri is calm and peaceful, stressing that those behind the false videos of deaths on the streets of Warri, are enemies of Warri South Local Government Area, trying to give Warri a negative narrative at a time when efforts are being made by his administration and genuine leaders in the area to revive the socio - economic life of Warri.

He begged residents of the city to cooperate with government in the war against the Coronavirus pandemic.
