Democracy Day; Gov. Ikpeazu Is A Quintessential Democrat - Lucky Johnson

In his goodwill message to the governor in commemoration of the June 12 Democracy day,the PDP chieftain described the governor as a quintessential democrat whose leadership style exemplifies what democracy entails.

In the remark, Sir Lucky Johnson opined that Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has redefined governance in Abia State through his democratic disposition to issues. According to him, been responsive is one of the major tenets of democracy and this is one of the major attributes the governor has brought to bear since assuming office as the chief servant of the state.

Recently we are all aware of the outcry of Abia State University (ABSU) over the pandemic fee imposed on them,the governor as a responsive leader immediately intervened and quashed such fees aimed at heightening the hardship of parents and their students ,he instead ordered for reduction of the fees of Abia indigenes schooling at ABSU by thirty thousand naira(#30,000).It is only a democrat who can do this he said.

The Isuikwuato born philanthropist and business mogul further stated that democracy is a people centered government and this is what the man Okezie Ikpeazu Ph.D is all about.He made reference to the recent interview the governor granted to Channels Television ,while speaking on the issue of insecurity when he posited that you can" proscribe a group ,but not an idea ".

Hon Lucky stated that such a statement can only emanate from a democratic who understands that government is about the people and giving audiences to their yearnings and aspirations and see how they could be swayed to the side of reality and not necessarily using force .

The infrastructural developments of the governor according to Lucky Johnson demonstrates the governor's intent to deliver dividends of democracy to ndi-Abia.He said the governor's caterpillar technology transverses the three senatorial zone in Abia. He made references to roads which were hitherto abandoned in Aba today has been reconstructed and now motorable.

He applauded the governor's commitment to unified Abia, he revealed that the people are more united now more than ever.

"Under Ikpeazu, Abia is more united than ever before. Even when issues, disagreement arise, the governor has a way of dealing with this issues like one family. Indeed, Ikpeazu is a real democrat" he concluded.
