Nigeria's financial and business community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Pascal Gabriel Dozie, the founder of the defunct Diamond Bank Plc, who died in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the age of 85.

The renowned banker and entrepreneur, who was widely respected as one of Nigeria's foremost pioneers in the financial services sector, passed away just one day before what would have been his 86th birthday, after a prolonged battle with an age-related illness.
