VIDEO: "Don't Give Your Phone To Police Without Warrant" - Police Boss Warns Nigerians

Nigerians have been advised not to give their phones to policemen at checkpoints without a warrant.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bassey Ewah, gave this advise on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 during a programme organized by the police community relations committee in Lagos state.

DCP Ewah who was answering questions from participants at the event said;

" I stand to be corrected; please do not give any policeman who stops you at the checkpoint your phone. it is not our schedule. if we are investigating you, we will present you a warrant and then demand for your phone."

The police boss who noted that every policeman on the road has a superior, further said;

"Tell your associates and friends on the street, if you present your papers and they (the policemen) say they are not okay; just tell them, police take me to your Divisional Police Officer. There is no point arguing with them because the man is deaf.ÔÇØ
