DPR enforces sale of new fuel pump price in Katsina

The Department of Petroleum Resources Monday in Katsina embarked on surveillance visits to petrol stations in Katsina to check on compliance and to enforce the sale of petrol based on the new pump price of N125 as approved by Federal Government recently

The Acting Operation Controller for Katsina, Aminu Sanusi, told newsmen that the exercise which is expected to be extended to the 34 Local Government Areas and the boundaries, is not only meant to enforce the new price regime but to check other abuses by the marketers, including hoarding, diversion of the product and to check pump price differentials as often observed during dispensing product by filling stations.

He further disclosed that the surveillance operation is expected to cover both major and independent marketers selling the products in the state. Most stations visited were subjected to checks on compliance with the volume of liters sold, as measured with the use of cellophane jerry cans

He expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by markers in Katsina

He said "you can see evidently that the marketers in Katsina state have since complied with the directive of the President where he has graciously approved the reduction of the Petro pump price from N145 to N125. Most of the stations visited you will see few queues commuters which imply compliance and there is no course for alarm."

"This is what we have been doing for long and we try to leverage on this medium to be able to sensitize the public on what we are doing, we are going all round the 34 local government councils of the state and I am assuring you that everybody will comply to the approve price."

Some of the filling station visited includes Rano and Matrix for major marketers, while the independent stations are Danmarna and Himma Petroleum limited.
