#EndSARS: LCC Fixes Date To Resume Toll Operations At Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge | DETAILS

The Lekki Concession Company (LCC), on Monday, March 14, 2022, announced the resumption of toll operations at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.

Toll operation is to resume on April 1st according to notices sent to road users and a statement issued by LCC Managing Director of the LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan.

The Managing Director of LCC, Mr Yomi Omomuwasan, announced the planned resumption in a statement on Monday, adding that the tolling will be free to all motorists for the first two weeks.

"About 18 months after tolling was suspended on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge Plaza, the Lekki Concession Company has announced the recommencement of toll operations at the plaza.

"Tolling will commence on April 1, 2022, but commuters plying the corridor will not have to pay any toll for the first two weeks until April 15, 2022 as this period would be toll-free to all motorists plying the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.

"The resumption of services at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge toll plaza is coming after extensive consultation with, and the support of key stakeholders including the residents' association, traditional rulers and community leaders, professional bodies, as well as the Lagos State Government.ÔÇØ

"We have introduced new technology and innovations to make passages at the toll plaza seamless and faster for commuters. We are replacing old toll devices with upgraded ones for faster operations at the toll plazaÔÇØ Omomuwasan said in a statement.

Recall that operations at the toll gate were suspended following the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protest of 2020.
