Ex-Gov. Ganduje Reacts To Allegation Of Obtaining N10bn Loan For CCTV Cameras | READ DETAILS
The immediate past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has opened up on allegations that he obtained N10bn loan for the installation of Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in Kano State during his administration.

Reacting to the allegation and call for probe by the Coalition of Political Analysis Forum and Governance, Ganduje through an ex- Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in the state, Mallam Muhammad Garba, challenged the Forum to produce an evidence showing that his government obtained such loan.

He explained that though the State Executive Council and the state House of Assembly then granted approval for the project "a Federal High Court in Kano, on July 1, 2022 granted an injunction restraining the government from obtaining the loan."

"We challenge them to provide evidence for the N10bn loan.For record purposes, when the last administration conceived the project, the State Executive Council and the Assembly formally granted approval, bearing in mind the importance of the project in enhancing security in the state. Unfortunately a Federal High Court in Kano, on July 1, 2022 granted an injunction restraining the government from obtaining the loan.

"We recall that the same court presided over by Justice Abdullahi Liman on July 19 admitted that it was misled in the case filed by one Yusuf Rabi'u, a proprietor of another non-existing CSO by the name Kano First Forum, and therefore, discharged the restraining order.ÔÇØ "Unfortunately, up to the end of our tenure, the facility had not been secured and therefore the project could not be executedÔÇØ.
