EXCLUSIVE: Hold South Eastern State Governors Responsible For Insecurity - Chikwe Udensi

The Coordinator, Interpol and a security expert, Chikwe Udensi, has blamed the insecurity in the south eastern states on the state governors.

Udensi apportioned blame on the five governors while featuring in an interview on Wednesday, June 16, in FLO FM, on the programme THE PLATFORM, monitored by ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER.
The expert who regretted that the proposed EBUBEAGU security outfit was yet to come into full force, noted that the Western security outfit, AMOTEKUN is the most viable because of the personnel and their governors pro-activeness.
"the fact of the matter now is that the level of insecurity in the country has exposed the inability of the federal security agencies to be able to provide security for the country. That is why the federal government have allowed the states to have their own security outfits.

" all south eastern and south southern governors have been sleeping on the issue of security." The south eastern governors are not doing much in this regard. The one that has been established by the south east governors have been moribund"
Speaking on the security votes the governors receive, he said;
If you see the volume of funds that is received by the governors every month by way of security votes, you will be totally shocked at what they are doing.

" the governors that collect these security votes, they pocket it. They don't use it for the purpose for which they were funded.

" it is not been used to ensure that even the minimum security arrangement are put in place. It is a pity, it is pathetic.

"the south east governors are not united, they have decide not to leverage through the window provided by the federal government.
When asked who is to blame on insecurity, the federal government of the state government, Udensi said;

" we are going to hold the state governors responsible for their inability to take advantage of the window provided by the federal government for us to have a very formidable regional security outfit called EBUBEAGU.

" we are not blaming them, we are asking them to take responsibility of leadership positions in their carious localities.

" south east governors are sleeping. South east governors have refused to accept responsibility of providing security for their people.
" we are asking them to come down from their high offices and take responsibility".
He stated that president Muhammadu Buhari was right to have asked the governors to go home and take care of the problems in their states.

He also charged the south east governors to come together and make a good impact for their people.
