it's quite unfortunate and absolutely lugubrious that our
story in Aba South and Aba North LGAs have often manifested as a pitiable one,
especially going by the manner through which our rights as a people continue to
be constantly threatened, and subsequently trampled upon by those who we felt
could have protected it.

We had expectations that the level of marginalization that
have over the years been meted on us as a people could be on a clamp down,
following the emergence of one of our own as the governor of our amiable state.

But it appears our guess was wrong, as the situation has
remained that of political victimization with no iota of consideration on our
plight as a people.

Aba North and Aba South boasts of credible men and women
with proven intellectual capabilities and integrity to pioneer the affairs of
our respective Local Governments. Why then are we continuously shortchanged by
those who should protect our interest as a people.

The recent reappointment of Chief N.C.N.C. okoli, a
non-indigene of the state for the 8th time as a Transition Committee Chairman
of Aba South LGA came to us as a shock, and this raises the question as to
whether Aba South cannot boast of credible individuals who can occupy such
office.

Aba North LGA is not left out, as the unfortunate
reappointment of Barr. Charles Esonu of Isiala Ngwa extraction to head the
Local Government Transition Committee showcases another high level of
marginalization and total neglect of the plight of the indigenous people of Aba
Ngwa.

In the light of the above, the indigenous youths of Aba
Ngwa, comprising of youths from Aba North and South decided to take the bull by
the horn to ensure that this high level of impunity do not stand. So far, the
intended screening of the two rejected appointees have been put on hold,
following the outcome of the deliberations by the committee asked to look into
the matter at the Abia State House of Assembly.

That was unarguably a great feat made by the indefatigable
youths of Aba Ngwa, even though we must not fail to express our sincere
gratitude to Rt Hon (Engr) Chinedum Orji (Ikuku Abia State) for thriving on the
path of justice in ensuring that this impunity do not stand. It was indeed an
appreciable landmark achievement as our amiable speaker, and we will never
forget this in a hurry.

Aba North and South comprises of reputable indigenes, with
proven integrity, and cannot be tagged a 'No Man's Land' where all sorts of
