Finally, Kogi records first ever cases of coronavirus

Kogi State in Nigeria's North-Central has recorded two cases of the novel coronavirus.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said this Wednesday night.

It was the first time that positive results were confirmed for Kogi since the outbreak in Nigeria - exactly three months ago.

In its tweet, NCDC announced 389 new patients and 5 new deaths.

The new cases are in 22 states of the federation.

The top five are Lagos - 256, Katsina - 23, Edo - 22, Rivers - 14 and Kano - 13.

There are now 8733 cases; 2501 have been discharged and 254 deaths recorded.

Coronavirus has affected over 5.7milliom people and killed 356,000 across several countries.
