Abia State Governor Alex Otti has unveiled an ambitious 750.28 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year, outlining plans to sustain the momentum of his administration's achievements over the past 18 months. Speaking on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the State House of Assembly in Umuahia, Governor Otti emphasized that the budget aims to build on the state's progress and address critical developmental needs.

The budget, titled "Sustaining the Momentum," marks a 30% increase from the 2024 budget of 523 billion. Of the proposed total, 611.7 billion (82%) is earmarked for capital projects, while 138.6 billion (18%) will cover recurrent expenditures, including personnel costs, social benefits, overheads, and debt servicing.

The administration plans to invest over 55 billion in road construction and rehabilitation across the 17 local government areas. Highlights include:
