Governor Akeredolu's wife, Betty, security aides test positive for COVID-19

The first lady of Ondo State, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has tested positive for COVID-19.

The COVID-19 status of the governor's wife was disclosed by a top government official who craved anonymity.

Mrs. Akeredolu's status was coming three days after her husband, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu begun self-isolation after testing positive.

Earlier today, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Wahab Adegbero died due to COVID-19 complications.

According to a source, the First Lady's sample which was collected some two days ago and that of security aides of the governor returned positive on Thursday.

It was gathered that the First Lady had embarked on self-isolation before her samples were taken.

The source added "we are still awaiting the results of some media aides of the governors and some commissioners who interact with the state governor regularlyÔÇØ

He also disclosed that the samples of members of the House of Assembly and the traditional rulers who were seen mingling recently with Akeredolu will be collected for testing.
