Governor Alex Otti Reiterates Commitment to Transparency at Ministers Prayer Network Anniversary

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, accompanied by his wife, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Otti, reaffirmed his unwavering stance on financial accountability during the 30th-anniversary celebration of the Ministers Prayer Network (MPN) held at their headquarters in Ukwa West Local Government Area.

Speaking to a spirited congregation on January 8, Governor Otti stressed the importance of keeping public funds separate from personal finances, a principle he has consistently upheld since assuming office.

"You know we have always held this discussion about running government and separating it from the individual. Government money is strictly for government business," Governor Otti stated.

Drawing from his experience as a banker, the Governor underscored the value of financial discipline:

"When you set up a business, you must treat yourself as an employee and pay yourself a salary. Do not confuse the funds of the business as personal money. This principle is what we have brought into governance in Abia State."

Governor Otti further assured the congregation that any personal support he offers to the ministry would come from his private funds, highlighting his financial independence prior to becoming Governor.

Governor Otti commended the founder of MPN, Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba, for leading the ministry through three decades of impactful service. He described the anniversary as a testament to resilience, commitment, and vision, urging the audience to emulate such qualities.

"There is much to learn from Rev. Madugba. Success requires a clear vision, documented goals, and consistent effort,ÔÇØ the Governor advised.

He also emphasized the need for personal development, stating, "The only way we can win is if we continue to develop ourselves.ÔÇØ

The event included a foundation-laying ceremony for a guest house within the MPN premises, with plans to complete the project before the ministry's 31st anniversary.

Rev. Madugba lauded Governor Otti for his transformative leadership in Abia State and led fervent prayers for the Governor, his team, and the State at large.

The Governor attended the event alongside key government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D., Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, and Attorney General, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna.

Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration's commitment to people-oriented governance, prioritizing merit, competence, and accountability.
