(Graphic Photos) How Gunmen Killed Scores in Sokoto Villages

Over 50 persons have been feared dead after gunmen launched attacks in Garki, Katuma and Kuzari villages under Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Wednesday night, May 27.

Reports say the gunmen stormed the villages at about 6 pm and opened fire on the residents.

Villagers who sustained life-threatening injuries are said to be receiving treatment at General Hospital, Sabon Birni while the bodies of those killed have been evacuated to the Sabon Birni General Hospital morgue.

Many residents of the villages have reportedly fled their homes for fear of more attacks.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Sadiq has confirmed the attack, adding that a statement will be released soon.
