Gunmen Kills Two Farmers in Southern Taraba

Two local farmers were reportedly killed by yet to be identified bandits in the wake of Thursday, while they were working on their farmlands.

Reports say that two men, both from Dapye village, a community in Wukari Local Government Area (LGA) of Taraba State, were killed by some gunmen suspected to be bandits.

Wukari Local Government Chairman, Adi Grace, in an interaction with newsmen, said that the gunmen attacked the community in the early hour of Thursday, and succeeded in kill the two.

Adi added that upon receiving reports of the attack, he contacted security men who chase after the bandits, "but unfortunately they met only the lifeless bodies of the victims after a few hours of a gun battle.ÔÇØ
He also confirms that the two bodies have been taken to their respective families for proper burial.

Also confirming the incident, Taraba State Police Command, through its Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal, said efforts were ongoing to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book.
