CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, made the announcement during a meeting with the Nigerian community in Washington, D.C., this afternoon. "As far as we are concerned, it is totally unacceptable that you should be out here and be having hassles in operating your accounts or doing business in your original country," Cardoso said, expressing the CBN's commitment to resolving these challenges.
This development aligns with ongoing monetary policy reforms and economic recovery efforts by the Nigerian government. The CBN's new BVN initiative is designed to simplify banking and business operations for Nigerians abroad, ensuring that they can seamlessly access financial services in Nigeria.
Additionally, Cardoso met with international investors to discuss the country's economic reforms. He urged them to seize the attractive investment opportunities in Nigeria, highlighting the favorable economic environment created by recent policy changes.
