A Support Group, APC Disability Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the National Leader, PWDs, Hon Tolu Bankole, promises to work for the success of BAT/KASHIM PRESIDENTIAL TICKET
and other APC candidates in 2023 elections.

The Group made the declaration today, Tuesday July 19, during a solidarity visit to the National Secretariat of the party to submit a letter to retract their earlier opposition to the leadership of the National Leader, PWDs, Hon Tolu Bankole.

Hon Bankole while receiving the group thanked them for the constructive engagement, he observed that engagement is key in politics and all spheres of life.

"When you are leading, a big or small community, people must have the right to disagree and since I came in here I have been intentional in my interactions with everyone to enable everyone have access to my office.

"I commend the National Chairman, Sen Adamu Abdullahi for being supportive to the plights of the PWDs community. He is working on a new office for the PWDs and in a few weeks, the installation of elevator will be ready to enable PWDs access the National Secretariat effortlessly.

"The party has prioritized the inclusion of PWDs as seen in the free nomination form for all PWDs aspirants during the recent party nomination process; members of this community were also included in the various screening and election committees.

"I assure you that my lines and office are opened to criticisms that will move us to achieve our goal of economic empowerment of our community.
"I'm in talks with strategic authorities to ensure loans, grants and other economic opportunities are extended to our community and very soon you will all see the results" he said.

The chairman of the group, Yerima Sulaiman Ibrahim who earlier some weeks ago led his group in protest questioned the disability status of Hon Tolu Bankole, now wrote a rebuttal on the mater described their initial stand as a result of perceived non inclusion of the PWDs, noted that after meetings and engagements with the party hierarchy, discovered that Hon Tolu is visually impaired which qualifies him to be one of them.

He promised to collaborate with the Leader by availing the group's structure for the victory of the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as well as the other APC candidates in the 2023 election.

The National Secretary of the Forum,
Hon Haruna Muhammad Tsafe noted that Hon Bankole is a practical person to the core and urged him to follow through his push for the inclusion of PWDs in state and federal government board and parastatals appointments to improve the status of the members of the community.

The National Leader, promised to engage the Governors, States Legislative Assembly and other distinguished stakeholders for the immediate domestication of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018 in all the states of the federation. He charged PWDs to get actively involved at the Wards, LGA and State levels.
