How 13-Year-Old Girl Killed 66-Year-Old Uber Eats Driver, Snatch Car

Two teens aged 14 and 15, have been sentenced to a juvenile prison for killing a 66 year old Uber Eats driver and snatching his car.

They were caught on camera trying to steal a car belonging to one Mohammad Anwar in Washington DC, while he was delivering food on March 23.

Report says the girls tried to drive away in Anwar's car while he clung to the driver-side door. They eventually crashed the car, killing Anwar, a father-of-three and grandfather-of-four.

NBC Washington reports that the girls were charged with murder and the 14 year old girl who was 13 years when she committed the crime, was given the maximum sentence requested by prosecutors at a hearing on Tuesday, July 6.

She pleaded guilty in juvenile court to second-degree murder last month and other charges will be dropped.

The second carjacker, a 15-year-old girl, now 16, pleaded guilty to felony murder and was sentenced to juvenile detention until she turns 21, the maximum sentence.

Mohammad Anwar, of Springfield, Virginia, was in a gray sedan and working as an Uber Eats driver when the girls asked him for a ride near the Navy Yard Metro station, prosecutors said.

Anwar had driven just a few blocks when the girls, armed with a stun gun, tried to steal his car in the 1200 block of Van Street SE.

Anwar tried to gain control of the car and accelerated, hit a tree and several parked cars, and flipped the car.

Police arrived at about 4:30 p.m. and found Anwar injured on the sidewalk. Medics took him to a hospital, where he died.
