B00M: How Abia Varsity Student Faked His Kidnap | READ DETAILS

A student of the Abia State University (ABSU) Uturu, on Thursday, May 13, faked his kidnap.

The suspect, George Nnamdi, a 200-level Political Science undergraduate of the university was arrested by the institution's internal security after he was discovered in his bedroom.

Speaking to journalists after his arrest, the Suspect, said he sent a text message to his friend at about 3AM claiming that he has been kidnapped by 6 men carrying AK47 rifles alongside other three students to prank his friend .

He noted that he had no criminal intention in engaging in such act and appealed for forgiveness for the pains caused the University as a result of such act.

Also, a friend of the Suspect, and a 300 level mass communication student, Faith Godson, said she received a text message from the suspect that he has been kidnapped and immediately alerted the University security which swung into action and arrested him as he was hiding in his lodge outside the University campus.

ABSU chief security officer, Retired Navy Commander ThankGod Evulobi, while reacting to the incident said, they received a distress call that a student has been kidnapped and swung into action only to discover that the student faked his own kidnap'

He noted and that the University senate will take appropriate action against the supposed victim inline with the rules and regulations guiding the institution.
