An explosion, suspected to be caused by a planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED), disrupted the bustling Buni Yadi livestock market in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, leaving the community in shock. The incident occurred around 12:30 pm, approximately 54 kilometers from Damaturu, the state capital.
The explosion injured a young girl, according to a local resident, Ali Hassan. The Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai spokesman, Captain Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the incident, clarifying that it was caused by a planted IED, not a suicide bombing.

"Another IED was discovered in the market and successfully detonated by the Army," Captain Shehu stated. He assured that the injured girl is receiving treatment at a health facility in Buni Yadi.
