How Anambra PDP Guber Candidate "Ezenwafor" Escaped Death in Abuja Gun Attack

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced investigations into a shocking assassination attempt on Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election.

Ezenwafor, who had been recently unveiled as PDP's flagbearer in the hotly contested Anambra gubernatorial race, was reportedly ambushed and shot by suspected assassins on Friday night in Abuja, the nation's capital.

Sources close to the politician said the attack was sudden and brutal. The gunmen, whose identities remain unknown, opened fire on Ezenwafor before fleeing the scene. The politician was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Abuja, where he is currently battling for his life under tight medical supervision.

"The Command is aware of the incident and we have launched an investigation. We are yet to confirm all the details surrounding what transpired, but efforts are ongoing to unravel the facts," SP Adeh said.

Ezenwafor, a notable political figure in Anambra State and former aide to ex-Governor Willie Obiano, was a surprise pick as PDP's gubernatorial candidate and has faced both internal party resistance and external pressures since his emergence.
