How Commercial Driver Allegedly Killed His Secret Lover's Husband In Ogun | READ DETAILS

A 38-year-old commercial bus driver, identified as Daniel Udoh, has been arrested for allegedly killing one Emeka Umonko, the husband of his alleged lover in Ogun state.

The suspect was arrested on Friday, January 7, 2022 by operatives of the state police command in Onipanu, Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the arrest followed a distress call received by the Onipanu Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

Oyeyemi revealed that the suspect was confronted by Umonko for allegedly having an affair with his wife. The confrontation had led to a physical tussle when the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab Umonko on his back and chest until he collapsed.

The PPRO in a statement on Sunday, said;

"Upon the distress call, the DPO, Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, quickly detailed his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested, and the knife recovered as an exhibit.

"The victim, a welder, was rushed to the state hospital, Ota, but was unfortunately pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

"The remains of the victim were subsequently deposited at the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination."

The PPRO said the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had directed that the suspect be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
