How EFCC arrested 36 Internet fraudsters in Enugu
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Enugu Zonal Command, said it has arrested 36 alleged Internet fraudsters in Enugu.

Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, said this in a statement on Wednesday, in Abuja.

Uwujaren said the suspects were arrested at Imo following credible intelligence linking them to cyber fraud, targeting mostly foreign nationals.

"Items recovered from the suspects are phones, laptops, international passports and one Lexus ES350 with NYCN registration number IMO 44.

"Other items recovered are: one Mercedes Benz GLK with Lagos registration number KTU 729 HD and One Toyota Camry with Lagos registration number KTU 720 HL ,ÔÇØhe said.

Uwujaren said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 36 suspected internet fraudsters in Imo State.

Operatives took the following into custody: Iwuanyanwu Divine, Nwoke Udojah, Patrick Micheal, Chukwu Hillary, Charles Nneji, Nwachukwu Chibueze, Obinna Ajem, Egwu Williams, Samuel Michael, Chukwuma Destiny, Emenalom Precise.

Others were Nwaeze Obinna, Ogbonna Monday, Raymond Chigozie, Mmadu Bright, Chigozie Sixtus, Ike Joachim Uchechukwu, Ifeanyi Uzor, Ike Joseph, Ekperi Ikechukwu, Iwwohen Ikechukwu, Joshua Emmanuel, John Dickson, Madu Sixtus.

The rest included Onyemauche Tochukwu, Chibueze Miracle, Precious Uchenna, Amamasim Bright, Ibeawuchi Obumneke, Ihugba Chikmso, Chima Charles, Christian Mahakwe, Okorie Arinze, Chukwu Kenechukwu, Mahakwe Charles and Chima Fidel.

They were arrested at Owerri, the Imo capital, following intelligence linking them to cyber-fraud targeting mostly foreign nationals.

Items recovered included several phones, laptops, international passports, Lexus ES350 with NYCN reg. number IMO 44.

Others were Mercedes Benz GLK with reg. number KTU 729 HD and Toyota Camry with reg. number KTU 720 HL.

EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
