B00M: How Four Young Men Allegedly Kidnapped 13-Year-Old Teenager | READ DETAILS

Four young men have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 13-year-old teenager in Onipanu area of Ado odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun state.

According to a statement released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects; John Nelson, 21, Adeleke Ayotunde, 29, Adekunle Basit, 20, and Abey Fagbemi, 20, were arrested, following a complaint lodged by one Adejunwon Odunowo at Onipanu divisional headquarters.

Odunowo, reported that his 13-year- old daughter, Susan Odunowo, was missing after her mother sent her on an errand at about 6:30 p.m. on May, 6.

He informed the police that Susan did not return from that errand but he later received an anonymous phone call, demanding for N500,000 ransom if he ever wants to see his daughter again.

The DPO, Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, immediately detailed his crack detectives, to embark on intelligence and technical based investigation in order to apprehend the suspects and rescue the victim.

The detectives successfully traced one of the suspects to Cele area of Ota, where he was arrested on May 8.

His arrest, led to the apprehension of two other members of the gang at a factory in Ota. It was then discovered that the victim was held hostage in a room, owned by Adekunle Basit. Detectives swiftly moved in, and rescued her unhurt.

The leader of the kidnap syndicate, Abbey Fagbemi, who fled on learning that his colleagues were arrested, was apprehended on May 10, at about 7:30am.

Oyeyemi noted that the victim has since been reunited with her family, adding that the state commissioner of police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti kidnapping section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for discreet investigation and prosecution.

He therefore appealed to the public, to strictly adhere to security advices given by the police, in order not to fall victim of kidnap.
