UPDATED (VIDEO): How Gunmen Invaded Imo School, Chased WASCE Candidates Away

Gunmen in the early hours of Monday, invaded the Comprehensive Secondary School (CSS), Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, chasing away candidates sitting for the 2021 West African Secondary Certificate Examination (WASCE).

The attackers were said to have invaded as the students were about starting their English Language examination.

According to a video made by one of the students, the gunmen destroyed some of the school properties including machines belonging to the school teachers.

From the video, burning items could be seen as teachers and students scatter away while the gunmen continued to shoot sporadically.

The invasion has led to an impromptu halt of the examination which commenced today, nationwide.
