A grieving mother, Mrs. Onyekachi Ikoku, has cried out to authorities over the alleged abduction of her son, Solomon Ikoku, by members of a disbanded vigilante group in Amangwo, Ikwuano LGA. In what has now become one of the most disturbing cases of alleged community brutality in Abia State, Mrs. Onyekachi Ikoku, mother of the missing youth, Solomon Ikoku, has visited the All Facts Newspaper office in Umuahia, pleading for justice and protection after her son was allegedly attacked and abducted by members of a disbanded vigilante group in Amangwo Umuigu, Oboro, Ikwuano Local Government Area.

According to the grieving mother, the tragic incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, when a group of armed men, allegedly led by Mr. Nwankwo Okoro, invaded their home. She narrated that the attackers-believed to be members of a disbanded vigilante group-beat her son mercilessly before taking him away to an unknown destination.

"They came in the early hours, calling my son's name. Before I could say anything, they started beating him. I was screaming, begging them to stop, but they didn't listen. They took him away, and I haven't seen him since,ÔÇØ Mrs. Ikoku said in tears during her visit to the All Facts Newspaper office.

Mrs. Ikoku revealed that since the attack, her family has lived in fear, receiving death threats from some of the alleged assailants.

"They told us clearly that if we talk to the police, they will finish us,ÔÇØ she said. "We can't sleep peacefully anymore. My children are hiding; I'm afraid even to go to the market.ÔÇØ

The suspects were identified as Alozie Eluwa, Stanley Okutuo, Godwin Kanu, Maduabuchi Enyinnaya, Godwin Sampson, Emeka Nwagboso, Ikechi Hope, Michael Benson (aka 'Tallest'), Chief Chituru Oti Ofo, Chichetaram Azuoru (aka 'Aboy'), Chikeka Nwosu, Eze Promise Chimobi, and Basil Okoro.

Mrs Ikoku said that the Chairman of Amangwo Village Council, Chief Munachi Onwuchekwa, on hearing the matter immediately convened an emergency meeting where the community resolved to escalate the matter to the traditional ruler, Eze Larry Ogbonna, and the Nigeria Police Force.

As of press time, the Abia State Police Command has not released an official statement. However, community sources confirmed that the case has been reported to the Ikwuano Divisional Police Headquarters.
