ABIA: How Kidnapped ABSU DVC, Prof. Godwin Emezue Was Released | READ MORE
Prof. Godwin Emezue, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) who was kidnapped eleven days ago, has been released.

ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER (AFNEWS), had reported that Prof. Emezue was on January 26, kidnapped at about 7PM while he was fueling his car in the company of his wife at Umuekwule, Amachara in Umuahia South LGA of Abia state.
Eye witnesses had reported that the Professor was whisked away in a Lexus SUV while his wife's ATM card was taken.

The kidnappers allegedly made contact, demanding for N35million ransom.
Sources hinted that the kidnappers had released footage of how they tort-ured the professor and threatened to k-ill him if the family failed to pay N20 million before the end of Saturday.

The kidnappers were also said to have warned the family against involving security agencies.

However, it was further gathered that the kidnappers later demanded an extra N5 million, claiming that they had instructions to ki-ll the don but may not act on it if the family hastened to pay the extra money.

Following his release, Emezue is said to have been admitted to an undisclosed hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
