How Kidnapped Bethel Baptist Students Escaped From Abductors

Two students of Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna state, has escaped from their kidnappers after they were abducted from their school premises.

The state police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed this in a press statement on Wednesday, July 21.

Jalige explained that on Wednesday at about 3.30 am, the Command was informed by a good Samaritan that two students of the school were sighted and believed to have escaped from their captors.

According to him, the students escaped after their abductors asked them to fetch logs of firewood from a nearby forest.

ÔÇØThe students said that on Tuesday, July 20 , 2021, at about 6pm, they were tasked by their captors to go and fetch firewood from the nearby forest where they were held hostage.

ÔÇØThey, however, decided to take the opportunity of not being monitored and escape to the Rijana community along Kaduna - Abuja highway.

ÔÇØThe two boys are currently undergoing medical examination at Police Medical facility before re-uniting them with their family, while a tactical approach is being intensified to secure the release of the remaining students,ÔÇØ Jalige said.
