B-OOM: How Man Duped APC Of N70m For Governorship Election | DETAILS

One Tope Jimi Fagun, has been arrested by the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for defrauding the All Progressives Congress (APC) of N70m.

Fagun was arraigned by the Anti-Graft Agency on Wednesday, November 10, before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, in Maiduguri.

The suspect is facing a 2 count charge bordering on alleged impersonation and obtaining N70, 000,000.00 (Seventy Million Naira) by false pretense.

According to the EFCC, the suspect allegedly impersonated Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu to fraudulently induce one Alhaji Bukar Dalori to release N70m under the pretext that the money was meant to aid APC 2020 gubernatorial election campaign in Edo State.

Pastor Iyamu is a former Chief of Staff and secretary to the Edo State government. He was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2016 election in Edo state. He has however defected to the APC.
