How Police Arrested a Man For Raping a 18-Months-Old Girl

The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Police Command has assured members of the general public in the state his commitment towards the safety of their lives, property and also the readiness of the command to deal with crimes and all forms of unlawful activities in the state.

The Commissioner, however, urged residents to always report any suspected criminal activity, admonishing them also to join hands with the security agency to fight criminality in Yobe state.

He said, "Take responsibility, joint the fight against Coronavirus and stay safe."

The statement was coming after it men of the command arrested one Ado Alhaji Kanwa, for allegedly molesting and raping an eighteen months old girl child.

According to the report confirmed to newsmen on Thursday by the Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the middle-aged man who hails from Kazaure in Jigawa State was arrested for raping an 18-year-old innocent girl.

He said, "During the week under review, Yobe State Police Command, through Karasuwa Divisional Police Headquarters succeeded in arresting one Ado Alhaji Kanwa who hails from Kazaure, Jigawa State but presently residing in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State for peasant farming.

"The suspect was arrested after having molested and raped an 18-month-old baby girl, identified as Adama Mohammed in Karasuwa LGA."

He added, "The Victim sustained various degrees of vaginal injuries as a result. Investigation has since begun for subsequent prosecution of the suspect."

In another development, the Lagos State COVID-19 Taskforce has arrested some fun-seeking youths who had attended a party at 84, Parks and Gardens, Idi-Oparun Bus Stop, opposite Abattoir at Abule Egba, Lagos in violation of the lockdown, public gathering and social distancing directives of the Federal and State governments.
