How Police Officer was Killed By A Fighting Cock

In what has been described as a tragedy, a Philippines policeman has lost his life while discharging his duty after he was slit on his tigh by a fighting cock.

According to reports, Christine Bolok died after he had loss much of blood as a result of a sharp cut on his left thigh by a razor blade attached to the leg of the fighting cock.

AFNews understands that the police lieutenant was immediately after the cut rushed out of the outlawed cockfighting sport centre to a hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

It was reported that the officer died as a result of too much bleeding from his femoral artery. Naija News understands that fighting cocks are usually armed with sharp blades on their legs during the sport event which is usually held at approve centres only on Sundays and holidays.

The Philippine government was said to have, however banned the game following the outbreak of COVID-19 disease.

Reacting to the death of Bolok, police chief Arnel Apud said, "I could not believe it when it was first reported to me. This is the first time in my 25 years as a policeman that I lost a man due to a fighting cock's spur,ÔÇØ

"The accident was a piece of bad luck that I cannot explain,ÔÇØ he added.

The police chief commiserate with the victim's family. Naija News gathered that three people were arrested during the raid while two other suspects remain at large. Seven fighting roosters, two sets of gaff and 550 Philippine Peso were also confiscated.
