A 24-year-old self acclaimed electrician, Emmanuel Chinagorom, has been arrested by members of the Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante Group in Agbor, Delta State for stealing.

Chinagorom who originally hails from Abia state, was reportedly caught stealing from a shop and handed over to the vigilante group.

Confessing to the crime when arraigned before the media, the suspect said he steals especially phones, so that he can give his late mother a befitting burial as he is the first son.

"I enter shops pretending to patronise them but my aim was always to steal valuable items like phones. This is my first time in Agbor before I was caught,ÔÇØ he added.

Chinagorom further confessed that a northerner based in Asaba buys the stolen phones from him and pleaded for mercy.

Speaking, the Chairman of Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante, Comrade Monday Kiyem, said they found several SIM cards and cellphones stolen from different places in the suspect's possession.

"Some of the victims who reside in Agbor have come to our office to identify their phones and narrated how the suspect came to their shops pretending to buy an item but ended up stealing their phones.

"I will hand Emmanuel over to the police for further investigation and bring his fleeing gang members to bookÔÇØ.

"We will continue to ensure that Agbor and its environs remain unsafe places for criminals like the apprehended suspectÔÇØ Kiyem said.
