Independence Day: Abia Lawmaker Hails Abians, Nigerians at 60

The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Onyekwere Mike Ukoha, has felicitated with his constituents, Abians and Nigeria in general for attaining the age of sixty years, since its independence in 1960, from the Great Britain.

Hon. Dr. Ukoha, who expressed delight in the giant strides being recorded in the Country, however hinted that for Nigeria to get it right, the citizens must have the right thinking mentality, as well as eschew those vices that are capable of giving the country a bad name, in the comity of Nations.

Continuing, the Lawmaker hailed the Country's founding Fathers such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Sir Ahmadu Bello, for putting the country first, and described them as true democrats.
He also saluted founding Fathers of the State, such as Dr. Michael Okpara, Mazi Alvan Ikoku, Dr. Anagha Ezikpe and many more who contributed immensely, to the growth of Abia State, noting that despite huge strides recorded, a lot is needed to be done in all ramifications, to make the State better.

The Minority Whip, lauded the huge efforts and sacrifices of President Muhammadu Buhari, and those at the National Assembly, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and his colleagues to make the country a better place and urged them not to relent.
