2ND PHASE: Jubilation As Over 5000 Abians Benefit From Prof Greg Ibe's Free Medical Outreach
At the resumption of the second phase of the 2022 edition of Professor Greg Ibe, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)'s free medical and surgical outreach, over 5000 Abians have benefitted.

The second phase of the outreach kicked off from Afugiri Ohuhu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State before moving to Amandioru in Ikwuano LGA, subsequently to Uzuakoli and Itumbuzo in Bende LGA. Thereafter, it moved to Isuochi, Nneato, Lokpanta and Umuchieze communities in Umunneochi LGA, with a team of 60 member medical personnel attending to various health issues of the people between November 8 and 12, 2022.

Speaking to news men in Uzuakoli, one of the patients, Ngozi Eke said she received quality drugs and glasses without payingments. She lauded Ibe for his intervention and care for the people.

on his own part, Sir Nick Etim, a retired civil servant from Itumbuzo prayed God to bless Professor Ibe for initiating a "life-saving health intervention that brought succour to poor people living in government rejected areas free of charge".

The medical outreach was complemented with distribution of branded aprons to traders in markets, while commuters had the pleasure of being transported home with buses in the fleet of Prof Gregory Ibe Free Bus Scheme.

The 2022 edition of the annual medical outreach sponsored by Greg Ibe had commenced on August 2, 2022 covering 24 centres in the three senatorial zones of the state. READ HERE

According to data collated during that first phase of the exercise, a total of 12,072 patients who presented diverse health challenges received different levels of medical intervention including appropriate diagnostic examinations, consultation procedures and drug administration, while 5,683 eye patients were treated and gifted glasses.

The outreach was temporarily put on hold on September 4, 2022 after covering the 3 senatorial zones of Abia state.
