A political storm is brewing as respected legal icon, Dr. M.O. Ubani (SAN), delivers a blistering rebuttal to recent derogatory remarks made by Julius Abure, the embattled former National Chairman of the Labour Party, targeted at the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR).
Abure's verbal assault, which included personal insults against Governor Otti's leadership and capacity, has drawn widespread condemnation. In response, Dr. Ubani described Abure's outburst as petty, reckless, and symptomatic of a desperate man clinging to fast-fading political relevance.

"Dr. Alex Otti stands tall physically, intellectually, morally, and in terms of leadership delivery,ÔÇØ Ubani asserted. "These are not the words of an honest critic but of a drowning man gasping for attention.ÔÇØ
The Senior Advocate noted that in less than two years, Governor Otti has delivered exceptional leadership to Abia State-reviving hospitals, fixing roads, paying civil servants on time, and ushering in an era of infrastructure renewal-a performance that stands in stark contrast to Abure's legacy of chaos within the Labour Party.

Ubani did not mince words in describing Abure's tenure as riddled with scandal, corruption allegations, and internal party crises that nearly destroyed the Labour Party's credibility after the 2023 general elections.

"He was imposed, used, and is now being dumped by the same forces that propped him up,ÔÇØ Ubani stated. "His refusal to accept the Supreme Court's clear decision is not only disrespectful, it's disgraceful.ÔÇØ

The respected lawyer made it clear that Governor Otti remains focused and undeterred, enjoying massive support across Abia State. He added that the people of Abia will stand by their governor in 2027, regardless of the party platform he chooses.
"Abians will follow Otti not for party colour but because of his substance and delivery,ÔÇØ Ubani affirmed. "He represents the leadership Nigeria desperately needs.ÔÇØ

"Governor Otti will not be distracted. He will continue to serve with integrity and clarity of purpose,ÔÇØ Ubani concluded.
