JUST IN: ABIA STATE INTERNAL REVENUE BOARD SEALS FIRST BANK, CUSTOMERS STRANDED

The Abia State Board of Internal Revenue today (10th December 2019) sealed up the Corporate head office of the First bank PLC which is located along Goods Shade off Bank Road, Umuahia for non payment of outstanding sum of N 5,916,568.00 being the outstanding balance of Abia Pluc fees in respect of the twenty two (22) branches of the bank in Abia State for 2018 and 2019.
In a judgement order from the High Court of Abia State which was made available to newsmen between Abia State Internal Revenue Board and First Bank PLC, the court ordered as follows, that an order be made mandating the defendant (First bank) to remit or pay to the claimant (Abia State Internal Revenue Board) through Abia PLUC the outstanding sum of N 5,916,568.00 being the outstanding balance of their fees in respect of First banks twenty-two (22) branches in Abia State for 2018-2019 respectively.
