Teargas Deployed as Bauchi State Protesters Clash with Police at Emir's Palace

The ongoing protest against hunger and bad governance in Bauchi State took a violent turn in the early hours of today when police fired teargas to disperse demonstrators gathered in front of the Emir of Bauchi's palace.

The protesters, who were demanding an audience with the Emir to express their grievances, were met with a police barricade.

This led to a tense standoff between the security operatives and the youths who insisted on seeing the emir.
