Kano Gov. Abba Yusuf Escapes Judicial Hammer As Supreme Court Affirms Victory | READ MORE
The Supreme Court has on Friday, nullified the judgement of the tribunal and appeal court, which had sacked governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state.
A panel of Justices of the Supreme Court led by Inyang Okoro unanimously departed from the concurrent decisions of the two lower courts, declaring Yusuf of the NNPP, the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election.

The apex Court restored the governor's votes that were cancelled by the lower court on the basis that the ballot papers were not signed.
It also affirmed that Mr Yusuf was validly nominated, contrary to the decision of the lower court that his candidacy was invalid on the grounds that he was not a bonafide member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
