Kidnapping in Abia Community: Isuikwuato LGA Boss promises better security

A former Member of Abia State House of Assembly and the Transition Committee Chairman Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the State, Hon. Osita Igbe has reassured people of the council of his readiness to weed out crime in the area, saying that his office will not relent to ensure a crime free society.

Hon. Igbe who gave the assurance in an interview with AFNews officials in his office, explained that the security of lives and properties of the people is necessary, following an ugly development which occured in the area on Tuesday evening, as some officials who came for meeting in the council were kidnapped on their way back to Uturu.

He however, explained that his office is on top of the situation to ensure that those kidnapped victims are released, stressing that the approach towards their release will never be a make shift arrangement because according to him, he has met with various security agencies to help apply holistic means to get the local government area completely secured.

The Council Chair emphasised that anybody no matter how highly placed, whose hands is in the kidnapping arrangement, will pay the supreme price.

Hon. Osita Igbe expressed satisfaction with the level of measures taken so far with regards to security situation, saying that as a result of the measures put in place, it has helped to curtail more ugly development in the LGA.

Continuing, he assured the people of Isuikwuato L.G.A of his resolve to maintain peace and order in the area, pointing out that those with the intention to commit crime, will never succeed.

Based on the information made available to AFNews, the earlier kidnapped people have being released.
