Kwankwaso Accuses Tinubu Government of Budget Bias, Warns of Regional Distrust | WATCH VIDEO

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), has openly accused the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu of pursuing a lopsided approach in allocating national resources, warning that such bias could deepen existing cracks in Nigeria's fragile unity.

Speaking during the Constitution Review Public Hearing in Kano, Kwankwaso did not mince words. He voiced deep concern over what he described as a deliberate tilt in budgetary allocation towards one region of the country, allegedly at the expense of others.

"Let me advise the Federal Government on the distribution of federal resources. From the information available to us, it's like most of the national budget is now tilting in one direction in this country,ÔÇØ Kwankwaso declared.

He emphasized that fairness and inclusiveness are central to national peace and unity. According to him, every region must feel the impact of federal presence and benefit equitably from the country's collective wealth.

While he affirmed his support for development projects nationwide, he cautioned against skewed planning that leaves large portions of the country behind. "We support infrastructure anywhere in this country, and any other thing that is good for the masses,ÔÇØ he said, "but a situation where government is taking our resources and dumping it in one part of the country and other parts are left just like that, I don't believe that is the right thing to do.ÔÇØ

Kwankwaso's statements have sparked political ripples across the nation, especially among groups already questioning the equity of Tinubu's federal budget execution, particularly in the North.

Analysts say his comments may stoke an already sensitive national conversation around ethnic balance, resource control, and development priorities under the current administration.

This is not the first time Kwankwaso is taking a bold stand on national issues.
