Let's Think Outside The Box To Solve Nigeria's Challenges - Speaker Abbas Tells Citizens
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, has said that solving Nigeria's problem requires thinking outside the box, which is the responsibility of all well-meaning citizens.

This is even as the Speaker expressed the readiness of the 10th House to partner with non-governmental and civil society organisations on better ways to solve socio-economic problems in Nigeria.

Speaker Abbas made this known when the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Dr Tayo Aduloju, led a delegation on a courtesy call at his office at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Thursday.

He said the 10th Assembly would associate with any organisation that is working towards addressing the challenges facing the country.

"We need to put on our thinking caps and think outside the box to be able to proffer solutions to the numerous challenges facing the country. We are looking forward to more ideas and more initiatives,ÔÇØ Abbas stated.

The Speaker noted that the 10th House would come up with a robust Legislative Agenda that would guide its activities in the next four years, calling on all stakeholders to key into it.

Earlier, Aduloju recalled that the NESG did a legislative gap assessment of "what was stopping the Nigeria's economy from growingÔÇØ and it identified 115 'NASSBER bills' in both the Senate and the House that "make a difference,ÔÇØ 15 of which bothered on transportation, with Abbas being Chairman of the 9th House' Committee on Land Transport.

The National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) is an initiative of the NESG and the Nigeria Bar Association's Section on Business Law.
