LGA Election: Abia Govt Declares Public Holiday for Friday, 18th December 2020

Due to the forthcoming local government elections holding in the state, Abia State Government has declared Friday, 18th December 2020, a public holiday.

Furthermore, movement of persons and goods shall be restricted within the state from midnight of Thursday, 17th December, 2020 with only staff of Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), security agents, media practitioners and others on essential duties exempted.
The government calls on citizens and visitors alike to ensure the maintenance of peace, law and order before, during and after the election.
