Man specialized in making and selling local guns to criminals has been apprehended in Bayelsa State.

AFNews understands that Victor Ogon, 28, was nabbed by the operatives of the anti-kidnapping unit of the state Police Command.

The suspect who reportedly hails from Agudama Epie, in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state is alleged to also belonged to a notorious cult group known as the Bobos. A statement from the police state police command on the arrest reads further: "He has produced and sold several locally made guns to cultists and armed robbers in Bayelsa State. Detectives are on the trail of some of the cult members who had purchased some locally made arms from him.

"The state Commissioner of Police, CP Mike Okoli, fsi, therefore, calls for continued support from members of the public to enable police succeed in the arduous task of fighting crimes and criminality in the State.

In another news, about 31 prisoners reportedly escaped court verdict as a truck conveying them to court was ambushed by heavily armed men.
AFNews learnt that the incident happened in South Africa on Wednesday, April 28.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Brigadier Jay Naicker, while confirming the incident to reporters a moment ago, revealed that the truck was seized at Pietermaritzburg.
