"Manchester United's hopes of signing Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton face being put on hold until next summer, according to reports,".
"The rebuild at United is expected to continue in January and next summer. Alongside Brighton & Hove Albion's Carlos Baleba, Wharton is one of the Reds' long-term midfield targets, though Palace are understood to want a fee of £80m-£100m.

"Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Wharton's future isn't set to be decided until after the World Cup with some of Europe's biggest clubs circling.

"'I think if something happens, it's going to be after the World Cup, but for sure, the focus of the player is on Crystal Palace,' he said on his YouTube channel.
"'He didn't want to move this summer, and he was not pushing for a move, because he's fully focused on Palace.
"'Then in 2026, I would not be surprised if something happens, because Premier League clubs, but also clubs in Spain, including Real Madrid, are monitoring the boy, and so let's see what's going to happen.'"

The final member of Manchester United's 'bomb squad' Tyrell Malacia is on the brink of leaving the club.

Malacia was one of a group of players to be exiled from Ruben Amorim's senior squad, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho.
