Michael Oni: Meet AFNEWS Abia Radio Personality (OAP) Of The Year 2021

Michael Oni is a broadcast journalist, versatile in voice over, program presentation, audio editing and news reportage.

Oni began his journalistic journey as an undergraduate in the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, working with the school radio station with a brief stint with Ray Power FM in Ilorin, Kwara State while still being a student.

The one year compulsory Youth Service brought him to Abia State, where he distinguished himself at the Camp, located at Umunna, Bende LGA, Abia State. As a result, the National Youth Service Corps awarded him the best broadcaster and was subsequently posted to Flo 94. 9 FM, Umuahia despite being a graduate of Micro Biology.

Being a pioneer staff as a corp member of Flo 94.9 FM, his diligence, hard work and professionalism set him apart and gave him a permanent job at the organization. He has since risen to become a voice to be reckoned with in Abia State as a result of his radio shows.

Amassing several awards from different organizations like Umuahia Literary Society, Abia State Association of Photographers etc, for his work in the broadcast industry, he anchored he biggest political discussion in Abia State, during the 2019 general election, which is the Abia State Gubernatorial debate.
