MISSING CHILD(Abia Panel): How neighbor Stole My Son Who Went To Buy Biscuit | SEE DETAILS

One Mrs Nneji K. Ogbu of #13 Ihemelandu Aba, has been accused of stealing a boy who went to buy biscuit.

Mr Godswill Anya Aru, father of the missing child, while giving witness to his petition against the accused before the Abia state Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, Extra Judicial killings And Other Related Matters, alleged that the police failed to diligently carry out investigations on the matter to ensure that the missing boy is found.
He informed the panel that the accused' child had confessed at Cameroon barrack police station, that her mother, Mrs Nneji took the petitioner's missing child away.

Mr Aru in his witness said;
" Destiny Anya Aru is my son who has been missing since 2013.

" I have been to Azuka police station, Cameroon barrack police station, CPS, and Zone 9 in search of my son.

" At zone 9, IPO Jonah asked me how much I had. When I told him I had no money, he asked me if I didn't know that it is usually the person who has money that wins a case.
" Mrs Nneji's child, Joy Nneji, took my son Destiny, to buy biscuit.

" At Cameroon barrack, when Joy Nneji was being interrogated, she confessed that her mother asked her to bring my son. She also said that her mother, Mrs Nneji took Destiny away. Since then we have not seen him.

" Mrs Nneji Kanu Ogbu stole my son. She even called me on phone asking me how I was feeling after loosing my son" the petitioner lamented.

Mr Aru pleaded that the panel aid him in finding his Missing child. He also pleaded for a cash grant to enable him continue his business as he spent all his money while seeking for his son's whereabout.

However, the defense counsel, FC Okafor, objected to the case on the ground that the petition lacked mandate of the panel. He stressed that since the witness in his evidence exonerated the police force from any form of brutality, the panel should wave the matter.
Okafor further reminded the panel that it's mandate centres on police brutality and extra judicial killings, not on alleged non- diligence of the police to work and investigations.

Responding, the petitioner's counsel, Mrs Ngozi Ukweni emphasized that the matter could be included in " other related matters" which forms part of the panel's mandate.
She prayed the panel to hear the petitioner and make recommendation to the state government who may mandate the State's Attorney General , to look into the matter.
