A 20-year old woman has been arrested for abandoning her new born baby boy in a waste bin kept in an airplane toilet in Madagascar.

Report says officials of the Mauritius airport had discovered the new baby wrapped in blood soaked toilet paper on January, 1, 2022 while conducting a routine check on an Air Mauritius plane that had landed a short while earlier at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport outside the capital Port Louis.

The woman who had arrived on a two year work permit, had earlier on denied being the mother of the baby, however, she was made to run a test which affirmed that she recently gave birth.

The baby and his mother are in a public hospital and are doing well.
