MUR-DER OF DPO: Police Reveals Prime Suspect, As Rivers Govt Places N100m Bounty | PHOTO + DETAILS
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, has placed a one hundred million naira (N100,000,000) bounty on the murder-ers of the Division Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada, Bako Angbashin.

Recall that Angbashin was on Friday ambushed, captured and mu-rdered by suspected cultists' group known as Iceland and led by one '2Baba' whom the police have now identified as Gift David Okpara Okpolowu.

The state governor also suspended His Majesty, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi Eze Igbu Akoh II, "for acts of complicity in ceding control of his territory to the notorious David Gift and his gang to freely operate and carry out their criminal activities".

Announcing the bounty, the Rivers state government in a Statement on Saturday, said;

"As a responsible Government, we cannot fold our arms and allow criminals and crimes to rear their ugly heads and thrive in any part of our State.

"Accordingly, upon the review of the entire incident and the security situation in the affected areas with the security agencies, we have decided on the following measures to bring the murde-rers of SP Bako to justice and arrest the deteriorating security situation in the Ahoada East Local Government:

"First, the prime suspect, Mr. Gift David Okpara Okpolowu (a.k.a. 2-Baba) and all members of his criminal gang are hereby declared wanted.

"Secondly, a bounty of one hundred million (N100,000,000.00) naira is hereby placed on his head for anyone who gives useful information that would lead to his arrest and prosecution.

"Thirdly, His Majesty, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi Eze Igbu Akoh II, is hereby suspended indefinitely for acts of complicity in ceding control of his territory to the notorious David Gift and his gang to freely operate and carry out their criminal activities".

The governor while commiserating with the Force and family of the deceased assured that the state government "would not allow his family to suffer the pains of his sudden and irreplaceable loss alone."

Reacting to the bounty, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Emeka Polycarp said;

"patriotic citizens should take advantage of that; be a whistleblower and make the money, and also help to make sure we arrest these bad guys for your own interest and humanity."
