'My Lawyers Have Abandoned Me, I Don't Mind Being Jailed in Nigeria' - Sunday Igboho

Popular Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, has lamented that his lawyers have abandoned him, adding that he doesn't mind being returned by Benin Republic and jailed in Nigeria.

In a leaked audio, Igboho claimed that the lawyers who collected huge sum of money from him in Benin, abandoned him stating that he does not mind being jailed like Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Igboho said;

"It is because of the situation I found myself in. If I am determined to get something done, nobody will resist me. When I insisted that the detention facility that I was kept here should be changed, they were forced to change it. I have accepted destiny. I am no longer scared of anyone. I am ready to face the judge that I am no longer scared of him. He should do whatever he likes.

"If they want to return me to Nigeria, they should go ahead. There is God there. Nnamdi Kanu is also in Nigerian custody and we are fighting a similar cause. I don't care if I am returned to Nigeria too. I am ready.
"I have been here for almost two months and the lawyers didn't show enough concern. I have senior lawyers in Nigeria who respect me. I have 42 lawyers defending me in Ibadan and they keep getting the victory.ÔÇØ

Recall that the 48-year-old activist was arrested on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin alongside his wife Ropo, on their way to Germany.
The couple were trying to flee following a raid on July 1, in their residence at Soka, Ibadan, Oyo State, by operatives of the DSS.
