N6.9BN: COURT GRANTS FAYOSE PERMISSION TO TRAVEL ABROAD

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday re-arraigned former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, for alleged money laundering.

Fayose was re-arraigned before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of a Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos.

The court granted his application for permission to travel abroad for treatment as he said he was sick.

The court ordered the immediate release of his international passport.

This follows the re-assignment of the case to Justice Aneke after the prosecution expressed loss of confidence in Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, who was previously handling it.

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke granted this application after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday re-arraigned the former Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose before him over allegations of laundering N6.9billion.

Justice Aneke took over the case from Justice Mojisola Olatoregun after the EFCC accused her of bias.
